Injection therapy can be very helpful for people with pain caused from arthritis joint pain or tendonitis.  Inflammation can be so bad it causes joint pain. This pain can cause the mere task of walking difficult. Corticosteroid injections is a steroid. Corticosteroid’s can dramatically reduce inflammation. They are used to reduce the inflammation caused by arthritis and other diseases.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding you want to disclose this to your doctor.  Corticosteroids can cross through the placenta to the fetus. Chronic use of corticosteroids during the first trimester of pregnancy may cause birth defects. Corticosteroids can also get into breast milk and can cause side effects in your nursing baby. Prednisone, another steroid is less likely than other corticosteroids to be secreted in breast milk or to pass through the placenta to your unborn baby, but it is recommended not to be taken during pregnancy or nursing.
